Burj Al Arab is the fourth tallest hotel in the world rated as 5-star. It stands on an artificial island 280 m (920 ft) out from Jumeirah beach, and is connected to the mainland by a private curving bridge. It is opened in December 1999.
Burj Al Arab is the world's second tallest hotel (not including buildings with mixed use). The structure of the Rose Rayhaan, also in Dubai , is 11 m (36 ft) taller than the Burj Al Arab.
It has a helipad at 212 m level at the rear side. In preparation for the 2005 Dubai Duty Free Men’s Open, the helipad of Burj Al Arab was converted temporarily as the world’s highest tennis court.

Tennis legends Andre Agassi and the world No. 1, Roger Federer, couldn’t resist the temptation to have a warm-up session or two. It was temporary grass tennis court was 692 feet, or 321m, high in the air.
Its have a weights of about 330 tons made up of steel trusses and 20mm thick plates. Two props of 1m diameter circular steel pipes, forming an inverted V shape, tapered at 30º to the vertical and tied back to the center core by a 40m long spine truss weighing 120 tons, support the total Helipad structure.
